German Vocab Overlay helps users learn German vocabulary while watching supported YouTube video pages.

Data processed

The extension may read transcript or caption text from the current supported YouTube video page. This transcript text may be sent to our backend server to generate German vocabulary, articles, translations, and word categories.

How data is used

Transcript text is used only to provide the vocabulary overlay feature. It is not used for advertising, profiling, or selling user data.

Data not collected

The extension does not collect passwords, payment information, health information, financial information, personal messages, or browsing history outside supported YouTube video pages.

Third-party services

The extension uses a backend API hosted on Microsoft Azure to analyze transcript text and return vocabulary results.

Data sharing

Transcript text is sent only to the German Vocab Overlay backend API for the purpose of generating vocabulary results. User data is not sold to third parties.
